Brodie Shepard

Tap

Brodie was born and raised in Brisbane and started dancing at the age of 8 at the Clarrissa Hill Dance Centre in Brisbane. He grew up competing in local eisteddfods and participating in C.S.T.D examinations, and was always helping out with the younger grades as an assistant teacher across all areas he trained in. In his teenage years he traveled to New York and Los Angeles to take classes with leading choreographers in America. He was inspired by this and knew that performing was something he wanted to do for many years to come. In 2011 he completed his C.S.T.D teachers certificate and began teaching open classes and examinations within the A.T.O.D, Tap Attack Oz and C.S.T.D syllabus’ across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. In 2012 he got the opportunity to perform with Raw Dance Company and traveled interstate to cooperate gigs through out the year as a tap dancer. The next year received a scholarship within the company to study a Certificate 4 in Dance.

Since moving to Sydney, Brodie has performed with WB productions as a tap dancer and found various teaching work across all styles. The people in the industry continue to inspire and drive him to be more involved in every aspect of the performing arts.

He is currently in his second year at ED5INTERNATIONAL studying a Diploma of Performing Arts and will be graduating at the end of the year.
